I hope to see a big turnout this year, it kinda sucked being the ONLY person unable/unwilling to ride some rides and waiting...all alone:(   lol

Because of recent developments between my father and I, I am moving out. My internet will be shut off over this weekend (tonight / tomorrow), and I have been using this time to download dlc, demos, tv shows, movies, music, and psp games to keep me entertained at night with no connection. 

I will be visiting my sister in Virginia over next weekend, and will be able to get online and play with you guys for a while using their internet, but wont be able to stay up late (she has 3 kids..all my nephews...and 3 dogs, Ill need my sleep). 

Hopefully I'll be able to find a place and get a full time job before the end of the year, if not, I will be moving down with my sister permanently. She has offered me my own place (house), car, and help landing a good job (she already has me arranged for an interview when i visit). 

During this time, 1Arm will be stepping up to manage the clan. Along with Collectors return, 9mm will be as strong as it has ever been, just with a change of leadership. 

When I first joined 9mm, it was shortly after CoD4 was released. I came in as a grunt, played my games, made my friends and connections, and when I saw 9mm didn't have any formal structuring (no website or list of members of any kind), I was surprised that it had been around for 6 years at the time. 

So with Collector's and Grouch's approval, I started this website to help manage the clan and keep us in touch when not on the same game. 

Over time it grew to include a list of our allies, ex members, and challenges. 

And when Collector and then Grouch had real life issues to deal with and needed time away from the clan (either by choice or by circumstance), I tried to step up and keep the clan that I helped grow alive. 

I tried to run the clan with a transparent policy. Posting my plans and my ideas on the website and waiting for feedback before doing anything. Alot of the ideas have yet to take off (vip membership, yearly real-life gatherings, etc), but some were hits...the chain of command, awards, challenges (even tho the first was 1Arms idea). And I ran it with a 'no bullshit' policy. I don't lie to my members and I kept them in the loop as much as I could. If i suspected one of trying to lie to me about clan drama, I called them out on it. 

Some people conceded and leveled with me, allowing me to fix the real problem. Others realized they had been caught and trapped, and fought back...denying to take responsibility for their actions, and quickly snapping back with public insults against me. 

Now I'm not saying I'm the perfect leader...I made my share of mistakes. Situations where I could have reacted calmer and that might have led to a better outcome. But in the end I feel I made the right decisions, and would make them again if I had to. 

Many of you joined during this time, when the original founders were offline and I was running things. I encourage you to add both 1 Arm and Collector (you can get their names by asking other members..the ones listed in the chain of command are outdated and need to be changed). 

I expect everyone to give them the same respect as leader you gave me. They have different styles of doing things, but both love 9mm and will see it grow.

Some examples are you need to register on the site to become a member..

You need to keep in touch when your not playing so we know your still a member...

and to put "9mm" in your clan tag and not to modify it. 

The clan tag is the only way to associate yourself with us in games. It is your uniform. By changing it to read anything else, you are removing your uniform and replacing it with another. 

You are saying "I am no longer a part of 9mm and am now in a new clan called "Ucan" or "212" or whatever you replace it with. 

If you replace "9mm" with anything else you are passively telling us that you no longer wish to represent our clan. 

The same goes for modifying the tag with another symbol or different case "9mm-" "9mm." "9MM" "9mM" etc. 

Therefore, if you change your tag, you will be removed from the clan on the spot, relieving you from having to wear it. 

You may think that this is a bit extreme. But in my time in the clan this very issue has caused several major incidents almost ending 9mm. And when you see a so called clan-mate wearing a different tag...it feels like a PERSONAL insult. Especially to me, the current leader. I have put alot of myself into 9mm since I was recruited, and have helped it grow into something we should all take pride in. So when I see someone who I thought was with us, wearing another teams uniform, its a slap in my face. It says to me:

"I am embarrassed of 9mm and the people in it"

"I was too much of a coward to say I'm unhappy in the clan or that i was planning on joining another team"

If you want to join another team, start your own, or just leave 9mm in general, I have no problem with that. I don't like to see anyone go, but if you are going to go...just tell me. I don't care how you tell me, post it in the forums, leave a message in the shout outs, send me a private message here on the website or on the psn. Ill ask you why ( to see if its something we can fix or improve), but that's it.

I wont beg you to stay or make you feel uncomfortable, and will wish you luck with your plans. Plus, should you change your mind in the future and want to rejoin, that can happen. 

But change your clan tag behind my back and all that goes out the window. 

Now this is all explained when you register, so it's not new to anyone. But, as I said, it has caused major problems in the past (as most of you remember), and therefore with a new wave of new members coming into the clan, I wanted to make it very clear and explain why. 

And it's really not asking much. Other professional clans out there require you to hand over your psn id and password so they can log in as you and control who you are friends with. And they do this because the people who DO break this rule, are generally dishonorable and cancerous, making their own group once they get kicked and then trying to steal members not because they like them, but just to try to hurt the team they got kicked out from. So keep that in mind. 

These are my views, and as leader, are the policy of 9mm. If you don't agree with this, please notify me. 

Remember....these VIP Memberships are OPTIONAL, and nothing you get or have access to now will change. Much like Playstation +, this will only add new features and services you can use. 

If we can get 10 people to join (1 Arm, Nae-Nae, Noeyedea, and myself will most definitely be subscribing...that leaves 6 more people needed), the income will be enough to do some really fun things.  

Membership Dues will be $3 a month, or $36 a year. 

This will cover website costs ($20 a month), as well as give us enough money to have 2 contests each year with a free game (roughly $60 value) being the main prize. If there is a Call of Duty game being released, that game will be the prize. If there isn't one being released that time of the year (summer), the winner will get to chose which game they would like to receive as a prize (again, only a $60 value). 

As more people join, more prizes and challenges will be arranged. Prizes such as free map packs or other DLC for the games we play, merchandise from the swag store, PSN cards, or any other myriad of rewards. 

If this is really successful, I would like to see some of the money we make to be donated to veterans charities. 

And who knows...if we get tons of people signing up, the next get-together might be completely sponsored by 9mm!

Camping instead of a Hotel

Airsoft instead of Paintball.

We should have enough equipment for everyone to enjoy airsoft, but for camping, bring a sleeping bag and pillow, bugspray etc.

Home is free, and can be found under the Network Tab. Sign on, and then look for me. I'll be on in my personal space (already setup for you guys) where all clan members can meet and chat and exchange friend requests.

Dress your character up how ever you would like, but for the clan picture, do your best to be dressed in a combat uniform (cammo, boots, hat, ect). And then strike a pose for the group picture! This picture will then replace the one currently found on our home page.

After the picture, be on your way into your favorite game, or stick around to play bowling, poker, racing, or any of the other mirad of free minigames on home.

This is a perfect time for new clan members to be introduced to the rest of the clan, as well as have anyone else interested in joining see who we are and get to know us a little.

Attendance is not mandatory, but highly advised.

The plan is to meet up at a hotel (to be determined) Friday evening. We'll go out to dinner or something as a clan that night and just relax.

Saturday we will spend the entire day at the park. First ones in, last ones out. Be sure to bring excedrin (some of the rides are old and throw you around alot, may cause headaces) and asprin (to help with other pains in the body like the legs for being on your feet so much).

Food can be kept in the car, as many of us will be taking short "breaks" to the car throughout the day.

Sunday we will be up early to hit up a nearby paintball field. As of now the plan is to play early and leave early so that those of us who have to work on Monday can get a good start on the journey back home.

But for your part as a 9mm clan member what are you willing to do for this great opportunity?

As a senior member of 9mm I am excited that I can do this for the clan, now its your turn to step up to the plate and help out, give us suggestions on what youd like to see as challenges , lottos, ect that we can use to make winning fair for all members.

One thing I think is that new members with less than a certian time as a 9mm member will be limited to the prizes they can win, until they prove there here for the clan not just the prizes.

There would be at least two levels of membership into our clan: Basic, and Paying (possibly different types of paying memberships).

A basic membership would be what most people have now, no fee to be in the clan, play with the clan, post in the forums, or partake in basic member challenges.

A paying plan would pay a minimal fee per month (something less than $5). This would give you all the benefits of a basic membership plus allow you to participate in big memberchallenges where there would be physical prizes from the swag store, or even ps3 games (both from the PSN and on disc, mailed to your door).

The revenue from these memberships will help pay for the items you would win, plus pay for the website and domain, reduceing or even eliminating our need for donations all together. Prizes would include simple swag like keychains, refrigerator magnets to bigger items like hats, t-shirts, or maybe the latest Call of Duty game.

Ideally, provided we have the income, I would like to have "free" (used loosely since it would require a monthly membership) games given out during the holidays when big titles are released, and multiple winners could win copies. Something like a holiday contest.

Other ideas for our funds would be to donate to charities (assuming we make enough money to cover our prizes and bills) involved in post war damage...including veterans, widows, orphans, any kind of repitable charities involving war.

A new page would be created showing a complete and detailed listing of all the funds collected, as well as what they have been spent on, ensuring an open and honest policy regarding the handeling of the funds.

Currently, we are researching ways members could pay the fees convieniently such as:

Pay Pal:
Our account will be managed by paypal, so naturally you would be able to make payments thru paypal and major credit/debit cards.

Pre-paid Debit cards:

Another possibility we are looking into at the moment is pre-paid debit cards. These would be mailed out to you at your request if needed, but put simply, you would add money on these cards (more info on this process coming soon), and then use that card anywhere credit / debit cards are accepted, allowing you to make payments to our pay-pal account.

Pay by phone:

Another option would be to call a 1-900 phone number we would set up, charging your phone bill with the membership fee. This, I think, would be helpful to our younger members who dont have jobs or credit cards. 

Money Order:

I would also accept money orders (as far as who to make it out to, more info on that later), which can be bought at any postal office and mailed out to me, or in the future, other senior members, which will be added to the funds. This will probably be easiest for most of our younger members as it requires no parental permission, but it does mean you would have to wait for the delivery of the money order (2-3 days), where as with credit cards, its instantanious.

Checks

As with money orders, checks would be accepted...but you would have to wait for the delivery and clearing of the check. This could take up to a week. The only reason I could see this being beneficial is to assure security in payment (ie identity theft with online payments).

We would provide the best security we can with all of these payment options, but will not be held responsible for any fraud.

If you want to be involved in some contests but not pay the monthly fee, we are looking into ways you could pick and choose what contests to participate in, but that would involve an entry fee which, while it would be less than the montly fee, would cost more if you enter every contest.

In the end this will grow our clan beyond what it is now, and far beyond what any other clan can offer. You, the members, will be getting more in the way of prizes and games. No more will the prize be just a simple award next to your name. More items will be added as swag and more physical prizes will be awarded to more winners.
